The long, maritime tradition of the Island is displayed impressively in the Maritime Museum, while the Archeological Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, both donations of the Goulandris family, underline the cultural life of the Island. |

By the same token, the Byzantine churches of the Virgin Palatiani, 13th century, the Virgin Theoskepastos, and the virgin Hodegetria bring to a full circle the image of tradition and nobility of the capital. Following the road to the north, 2Km from Hora, there is a crossing and to our right, passing the beautiful beach Yalia, we reach the picturesque village of the sea captains and ship-owners, Stenies. To the left, after 4Km, the road leads to the village Apoikia; all green and famous for its therapeutic spring Sariza. |

After crossing evergreen mountainous villages the road goes back to Batsi while another road, to the left, leads to the village Strabouries and back to Menites. Following the road before Hora, southwards, at the 46th Km are, among others, the villages Vouni and Fallika with the old monastery of Panachrantos, founded in 961 by Nicephoros Phokas.
